To increase height, most doctors usually prescribe a thyroid or also methyltestosterone.
Hormonal changes, especially with the thyroid gland, play a role in changing a person's height. In hypothyreoidism, there is a delay in growth and development, and can be accompanied by slowness of thinking, fatigue and menstrual disorders. Thyroid tablets, if taken regularly (on doctor's advice) will correct the deficiency and can increase a person's height and weight, provided that the epiphyseal line in the bones has not been closed. The normal dose is generally 1.5 grains or 90 mg of thyroid extract a day.
