The day you decide to focus 100% on making your dream come true will be the day you make one of the hardest decisions in your life.
Perhaps you have recently quit your job to start your own business or you are a recent graduate looking for your passion.
Now the real journey begins.
You will have to overcome the obstacles that will inevitably stand in your way, both externally and internally. Sooner or later, you'll have doubts about your ability to succeed or you'll meet people who say your idea is worth less than a small teriyaki chicken sandwich (based on real facts).
You'll doubt yourself on your journey.
You're going to question your own beliefs.
You'll feel like a complete failure.
And that's all right.
Any iconic leader today has felt this uncertainty in one form or another throughout his career, from Michael Jordan to Thomas Edison or Tony Robbins.
The difference between persevering and quitting is that successful people are mentally prepared to endure what is necessary until they cross the line of success.
In other words, they accept the worst that will inevitably stand in their way and have the ability to recover to continue, believing that the best is yet to come.
Anyone can make the decision to start. The winners are brave enough to make the decision to continue.
Here are 7 things you must remember to keep your dream alive:
You'll always have more opportunities. Whether you're 20,30 or 40, you have a lifetime to succeed. Arianna Huffington launched the Huffington Post when she was 55 years old, and today it is one of the most successful websites in the world. Anything is possible.
Be patient. Achieving long-term success takes time. It's as simple as that. Don't fall for the fashionable Facebooks and Snapchats of the world.
Don't underestimate yourself. When things get tough, it's normal to lose self-confidence. You have to know that we are much stronger than we ourselves believe - mentally and physically. What our brain predisposes us to believe, in the face of the pain we can really bear, are two very different things.
Experiment, experiment, experiment, experiment. It analyzes failure as another way to succeed, not a dead end. There are countless solutions to your problems, your mission is to experience these hypotheses in the shortest possible time.
Play something bigger than yourself. People use the phrase "fake it until you get it" a lot and it can be misleading to many. Personally, I understand this as being who we could become someday, not who we are today with the obstacles we put ourselves in the way of.
Compare only with yourself. The only person you have to get over every day is yourself. No one else.
Accept the lowest moments. You have to know that when things are at their worst, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Great inventions and success stories go through a "downturn" before they reach glory. The night is darkest just before dawn.
