Since at least 37h the snapshot file gives a http 404 error.

Until this gets fixed, you could use the UNOFFICIAL snapshots mentioned here.
- 1. UNOFFICIAL means those are done by volunteers, not by the "official" Gridcoin (dev) team. Thus there can happen errors, delays, ... BEST is always to use the OFFICIAL links/ressources!
- 2. If you ask me: let your client sync from alone, which unfortunately will take a few hours, at least... but: is the "safest way".
- 3. Ideally you should also install the newest Gridcoin version 3.5.9.4 which has a checkpoint to block 950000 (currently we have 969k blocks in the blockchain).

- 5. see then section "!snapshot howto" for how to apply it manually on your OS
Bug to mention:
- the checkpoint seems not verifiable via the wallet...
