With that, we can buy any of:
-3 bottles of water
-3 pcs of eggs
-around 800g of banana
-a small loaf of bread
-a small cup of tea and a sandwich
-before prepaid card, you can go on a one-way trip (end to end) in a public bus (AED 2 per trip)
-treat yourself and two other friends to a McDonalds ice cream cone
-a small bar of chocolate
-200 grams of my favorite banana chips. <3
You perhaps get the idea.

In my home country, the Philippines, a dollar equates to around Php 48 (today's rate). I am not too familiar with the prices of the commodities there nowadays but I'd presume pretty much the same as above.
