The other day while I was listing some stuff for sale on Vinted, came across two photos that at first made me smile, but at a second thought it made me realize how sad the future is going to look like for us, or the upcoming generations.
The two photos were next to each other, that's how I noticed them, and what caught my attention was the fact that it was the same woman posing the exact same way, yet on one of the photos she was slim, while on the other she was weighing at least 15 - 20kg more. Now you may wonder why and the answer is simple, because the dress she was advertising was a way bigger size than the other.

As an outsider and not a party involved, you can have a good laugh and be amazed of what AI can do today, but if you think objectively, you see how sad and dangerous this can be.
Online shopping made a huge step forward during the covid lockdown, they say it bypasses 8 years of evolution, due to the restrictions and those who get accustomed to ordering everything online, it's highly unlikely they will give up the comfort this type of shopping offers buyers. It's nice to click a few buttons and have the product in the locker or at your door, I'm not against it, I'm part of the crowd myself, but not 100% as unfortunately not everything is what they say it is.

Individuals have the habit to not reveal everything when using platforms for pre-owned products (I'm trying to avoid the word lie, but that's exactly what happens), now with AI you need to have your eyes open to see if you're looking at a photo, or an AI generated image. We all know, when using AI to create and image for a product, chances for you to not get the product modified as well are 50/50, or less.
Companies are in a different position as they need to respect the law, but that doesn't always mean they do. Cutting corners here and there, bending the rules every now an then and you need to read the reviews, trust and learn from those who already had an experience with the product.

At the moment I can't complain as we have customer protection, you can send the product back in 30 days and get a refund, but imagine the situation in countries known to top the list of cheaters, abusers, plagiarizers and AI users. I don't even want to imagine what online shopping is like in these countries.
Some countries have gone completely mad already in so many areas. I remember the shock the world had when in China people were going on a date with dating app created virtual persons. Now in Japan people are marrying AI people and this is just the beginning as the madness never ends. There's always something new in the digital world and each invention takes us further from reality.

Yesterday I showed my dad how to use AI, to research and collect information. It wasn't a hasty decision as I was thinking about it for a week or two. At his age, you need to be careful what and how to teach him, so I told him if AI says he's a genius or that he has to jump out of the window, it doesn't mean it's true or he has to do it. Ok, jokes aside, now he knows you can't believe everything AI says and have to be careful.
I was wondering what the future is going to look like and what our life is going to be in 10 or 20 years, if we'll be still alive. Can you imagine life in 2036 or 2046? Let me know in a comment. I'm really curious about your thoughts 馃槑
