Today I'd like to show you the rest of the photos I took at the exhibition two weeks ago. It was the solo exhibition of Petre Caprita, called The Transcendence of Form and you can read the first part of my experience here.
The artist has a really particular style that you don't see every day. I'd say it's kind of abstract, as that's how it seems to me, but my knowledge in this area is minimal, so I'm not sure I'd be right to call it abstract. Anyway, it doesn't matter what you call it, what matters is how it makes you feel and what it means to you.
The Shaper of Destiny
For a minute I had the impression I've seen this painting before and I don't think I'm wrong, just can't remember when. Anyway, it's a really good and complex one and I wish I could figure out what it means exactly.
What I see here is a man trying to predict the future, the writing and the numbers support my theory (I think).
PHI 2026
PHI can mean several different things depending on the context. I see the letter phi on the top, the 21st letter of the Greek alphabet. I see a 5, 5th Fibonacci number is 5, the value of the golden ratio is explicitly defined using the square root of 5 but beyond that ... I'm sure the artist had a whole lot more in mind. These are the times when I regret not having a description about the thought process, but in these galleries you rarely have any.
Metaphysical Space
This was an interesting one. I see the "hive" 😜 but what's more interesting is that I see a hurricane in the center of the canvas, formed in the middle of a road. Another interesting detail is the silhouettes on the top. The artist has a thing for these silhouettes and I love it. It's a very mysterious detail as none have face or personality, they are more like a mass. I like this one.
There's another detail that most of you, if not all, can't see, or even if you can, you don't know what it means, myself included, so I shamelessly am tagging 
To give you an idea about the size of the paintings. If you look at how detailed each one is, you understand you need a considerable size of canvas.
Pompei, The Eruption (2015)
This was a nice surprise as I've never seen the scene on canvas, or any other volcano eruption painting, unless I count the kitschy ones. This is quite abstract and why I like it. You wouldn't say it's the Pompei eruption.
Ancient Muse
If there would be one I could take home, this would be that one. I don't see a muse there, obviously the muse is of those who got inspired, but I love the composition. The rough face of the man, that looks like a Roman or Greek god's face, the colorful body, the numbers inside, the silhouette of the woman and the colorful frame ... marvelous! If it was on my wall, I'd stare at it all day, that's for sure. It has something special I can't define. Even though I loved this one, didn't have the courage to ask about the price as I knew I could not buy it anyway, so why make my heart ache more.
