This is another post in which I'd like to point out a few things for new users and old ones as well, as who knows, it may be helpful. Things are changing fast around here, there's something new every day and one can not pay attention to everything.
Now that Leo got a lot of attention, Leo token is appreciating more and more, users are acquiring Leo tokens and they will be doing that in the future as well. I've been doing the same and today I'd like to show you what options you have and what's the difference between them.
There are two exchanges right now you can use to swap Hive to Leo tokens, Leodex (https://leodex.io/) and Hive Engine (https://hive-engine.com/). Let's start with Hive Engine first.
At the top of the page, under DEPOSIT and WITHDRAW options there's a message saying NOTE: There is a 1% fee on all deposits and withdrawals. This means 1% of what you deposit and/or withdraw, goes to Hive engine. Let's see a scenario with numbers. I'm simulating a deposit below.
Let's say I'm depositing 1000 Hive from my wallet to Hive Engine. Under the amount you can see how much gets deposited in my wallet, which is 990 Hive. 1% is 10 Hive, that goes to Hive Engine as transaction fee.
Now let's go see what's the case on Leodex.
Leodex has a different policy and the fee for deposits and withdrawals is 0.25%. A 0.25% fee calculated to 1000 Hive would be 2.5 Hive. The difference is obvious, 7.5 Hive. Now if you would ask me if I want to pay 7.5 Hive more for 1000 Hive, I'd say no.
Many of us buy small amounts as we don't have large amounts to invest, but it adds up in time.
This is not an advice, I'm just presenting the options you have.
You can buy and sell any tokens on Leodex by the way, not only Leo.
