¡Hola amigos! Aquí estoy para seguir con la programación navideña de este año. Aunque esta vez estoy viendo películas viejas que no vi antes. Hoy les traigo la reseña de Carta de Navidad.
Hello friends! Here I am to continue with this year's Christmas programming. Although this time I'm watching old movies that I didn't see before. Today I bring you the review of Christmas Mail.
Trama - Plot
Carta de Navidad es una película del 2010 que nos cuenta la historia de Kristi, una joven que se dedica a contestar las cartas que los niños escriben en Navidad para Santa Claus a través del correo. En esta ocasión recibe una carta muy curiosa de una niña que perdió a sus padres y ahora vive con su tío y le gustaría que Santa le regale una compañera a él para que no se sienta solo y poder tener una familia. Lo más curioso es que este tío resultó ser un cartero que trabaja con Kristi y quedó flechado por ella.
Christmas Mail is a 2010 film that tells the story of Kristi, a young girl who is dedicated to answer the letters that children write at Christmas for Santa Claus through the mail. On this occasion she receives a very curious letter from a girl who lost her parents and now lives with her uncle and would like Santa to give him a companion so that he does not feel alone and have a family. The funny thing is that this uncle turned out to be a mailman who works with Kristi and was smitten by her.
Reseña - Review
Es una trama más que predecible, pero de ahí radica mi gustó por este tipo de películas, son relajadas, sencillas de entender, divertidas y te ayudan a pasar un buen rato. Al igual que la anterior que reseñe la semana pasada, tiene una duración corta, así que se puede ver de un tirón sin problemas.
It's a more than predictable plot, but that's where my love for this kind of movies comes from, they are relaxed, easy to understand, fun and help you have a good time. Like the previous one I reviewed last week, it has a short length, so you can watch it in one sitting without any problems.
Aunque me pareció entretenida, no logró engancharme tanto de entrada y siento que estuvo un poco floja en algunos aspectos. No me terminó de convencer del todo. Lo bueno es que tiene el plus de tratarse de una historia familiar, ya que tiene el combo perfecto de niños y perros, porque sí, también hay un perro acá y una niña muy encantadora que me dio muchos momentos divertidos al querer conseguirle citas a su tío con las señoras del barrio jajajaja.
Although I found it entertaining, it didn't manage to hook me that much right off the bat and I feel it was a bit weak in some aspects. I wasn't completely convinced. The good thing is that it has the plus of being a family story, since it has the perfect combo of children and dogs, because yes, there is also a dog here and a very charming girl who gave me many funny moments when she wanted to get her uncle dates with the ladies of the neighborhood hahahaha.
A pesar de esto la disfruté mucho, tiene el espíritu navideño, y un villano estilo Grinch que odia la Navidad y todo lo que tenga que ver con ella. Pero que recibirá su lección al final, como debe ser.
Despite this I enjoyed it very much, it has the Christmas spirit, and a Grinch-like villain who hates Christmas and everything to do with it. But who will get his lesson in the end, as he should.
También me pareció que le agrega un elemento misterioso y fantasioso al darnos a entender el origen de Kristi, ya que ella es muy reservada en cuanto a su vida privada, no suele dar muchos detalles de dónde vivía o si tiene familia. Así que hay un clima fantasioso que nos hace pensar que tiene que ver con Santa Claus.
I also thought that it adds a mysterious and fantasy element by giving us to understand Kristi's origin, since she is very reserved about her private life, she doesn't usually give many details about where she lived or if she has a family. So there is a fantasy atmosphere that makes us think it has to do with Santa Claus.
Kristi como protagonista me pareció un poco infantil en muchos aspectos y creo que no termine de tragarme ese enamoramiento repentino de Matt el cartero. Si se trata de romance necesito que me hagan creer que es real, y estuvo un poco flojo en este punto para mi gustó, pero bueno. Igual se veían muy buen juntos, aunque siento que les faltó algo más de química.
Kristi as the main character seemed a bit childish to me in many ways and I guess I didn't quite buy that sudden crush on Matt the mailman. If it's about romance I need to be made to believe it's real, and it was a little weak on this point for my liking, but okay. They still looked really good together, although I feel like they lacked a little more chemistry.
Sin embargo, un punto a favor es que la película te da el mensaje de ir tras tus sueños sin importar las circunstancias, tomarlos y no dejarlos ir. Me pareció un lindo recordatorio. También me gustó que mostrarán que se puede hacer una Navidad sin necesidad de nieve, ya que queda lindo igual y es más real para nosotros, los del hemisferio sur que no tenemos el placer de disfrutar una blanca Navidad porque hace calor.
However, one plus point is that the movie gives you the message to go after your dreams no matter what the circumstances, take them and don't let them go. I thought it was a nice reminder. I also liked that they showed that you can have a Christmas without snow, as it is still nice and more real for us in the southern hemisphere who don't have the pleasure of enjoying a white Christmas because it is warm.
