It seems like in our 50s we do have a lot of experiences and catalysts that make us question the path we're on. Some people I've known retreat into their work and use it as an escape from life, an excuse for not taking chances or making deep human connections.

Thank you! The characters are developing and unfolding! It's been interesting the path the story has taken. It's going to end up being more about balance and harmony than it is humanity vs. technology.

You know, my family has talked about our relationship before. We've come to the conclusion that, in some ways, we're closer because of the distance. We certainly value our limited time together more. We know people who live in the same city as their parents and family too but rarely see them. The closeness in distance makes them take their loved ones for granted. Being this far away is very difficult in other ways though. As the relatives get older you see their capabilities diminishing so much between visits and then you miss all the milestones of the younger ones. There have been so many times, recently, when older relatives have needed help and I wished I could just hop in the car and take a short drive to lend a hand. Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful weekend too Nancy!
