I can't imagine anyone thinking this property could be saved in the current state it's in. Even the back of the building looks like quality construction compared with what we have here in America from that timeframe. We had a lot of old WWI-era apartment buildings in our old neighborhood. The front of the buildings looked like the back of these, without decoration and in red brick, but the backs of the buildings were constructed of a cheaper beige brick made of a softer stone that deteriorated from decades of being exposed to the elements. It looked as though the walls were melting.
