Fifty is a milestone, for sure. Habits and lifestyle after that half-century mark pretty much dictate a person's quality of life during their remaining years. Attitude accounts for a lot too. I watched so many of my older relatives thrive in their elderly years because they kept positive and moving.
This song speaks so much truth:
At almost 55 I can tell you my mind, more often, whispers things like—"Rest", "Don't do those last few reps", "It's okay not to take a walk today", etc. It's a little act of rebellion against time not to listen. Oh, and I'm SO glad you dodged the AARP bullet! It's a farce.
