I'm a firm believer that, if we're truly writing from our souls, it's the most intimate thing we can do. The reader, instinctively, knows "it" when they read and that's what draws them to the words. This world makes so many people feel like they have to build callouses and slowly give away their innocence in order to survive and protect the core of who they are—what makes them unique. Good writing bares all, and people respect and oftentimes envy that courage and ability.
