That's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to taxes too. The property taxes are astronomical, we have double digit increases some years and "special assessments" we must pay that are extra local fees (property tax increases in disguise). We have some very corrupt local officials. I think we'll probably end up staying here for a while just because our son is here. If he'd be willing to move we might consider leaving the state.

I have no idea how working young families with children stay afloat financially here. It would be very tough. It's good to here from you Lizelle!
