Most of these companies try to increase profit margins however they can. You're right, if your only choice is crap then people are going to go back and buy more crap. I really think buying pre-owned older stuff is best at this point. Maybe a 20+ year old set of furniture that we can reupholster would be the way to go. Unfortunately we will be moving these piles of crap and will probably use them in the lower level family room until they completely disintegrate.
