It's so vital to a person's understanding of themselves to expand their vision so they can see a more accurate view of their culture and how the world works. Travel and reading/education (which is like traveling without physically moving) is the key. It was interesting to see the change in our son after we took him on his first overseas trip to Ireland last fall. He came back a very different person with a much broader world view. We'd been telling him for years how much better life was abroad but he couldn't fully grasp it until he experienced it for himself. Thanks for contributing to Memoir Monday again, Nancy! Enjoy your day.
