I remember the Green Machines! We never had one but did have a Big Wheel that we managed to snap in half. You write very well. It was as though I was right there as I was reading this. I, too, had so many accidents on bikes, mopeds, and motorcycles. Do you remember those "rat trap" type of pedals on bikes back then? They had metal spikes on them that would invariably scrape the skin off your shins. It's a miracle that we survived the 1970's intact. I think this is one reason I have a high pain tolerance today.
