I have heard about that community! I appreciate the reminder though. I tend to forget about the different communities here. Being reactionary is a hard habit to break. I was horrible at being reactionary when I was younger and it caused me a lot of misery. I had to learn how to create an "air gap", just a short pause between the stimulus and the response. This took me decades.

I found a decent financial strategy recently that I've started to follow --

Simple long term wealth creation advice :

  • Use income to buy soft assets (equities, businesses, crypto).
  • Use gains from soft assets to buy hard assets (property, gold, bonds)

Don't sell hard assets to buy soft assets.

With this strategy you're constantly accumulating wealth in up or down markets, and moving speculative asset gains into hard assets.

Obviously, you lose some upside but over the long term on a risk adjusted basis, you're creating inflation proof wealth for yourself that you can rely on in retirement.

We'll see how it works, longer term but it makes sense on paper anyway.
