A world, still divided,
a place where
stillness is no longer
the order of the day.

We push love away,
while residual noise is
so coarsely broadcast
to numb our hearts,
and cloud our minds.

Now is the moment to
reconcile where we’ve been
and where it is we wish to go,

to develop a
deep sense of being,
that opens our emotional pores
to what life is trying to teach,

to seek out all
of those things that touch
our souls before
they can even think
to reach our minds.

Each second we
are confronted with
sublime beauty
in this stream
of great ugliness,

alt

we must only
stop swimming to
come to know the ways
in which it glistens.

Listen and you will realize
life is a question
with no binary answer,
and like a lonely dancer,
it’s trying, desperately,
to engage us quietly
with nothing but
the sparkle in its eyes...
serendipity.
