The things we’ve been through
are enough to fill the silence,
the miracles we’ve seen have shown
me there’s continuity of the soul.

There’s more to this world
than what we know,
a vastness veiled beyond
the farthest of our reaches,

We’ve worn storms that
cling to us like our own skin,
etched and weathered,
yet here we stand, in spite of them,

The minutes we’ve missed,
they drag on, heavy as regret,
but the days—they sprint,
slipping through our fingers.

Years were burned
running from demons,
shadows snapping at our heels,
until we turned to face them,
learned their names,
shouted them back
until they shrank,
tamed by the weight
of our own reckoning.

Be well and make the most of this day.
