I don't trust polls either, they can easily be doctored. I don't see excitement for Joe because I think people are fed up with the DNC for throwing all of their support behind him when there were so many other, better, choices. I also think people are going into this election with their minds pretty much made up I doubt we'll see as many "secret" Trump voters or those Bernie supporters who choose not to vote this year like we saw in 2016. Who knows though, there are so many shenanigans going on behind the scenes of both parties that anything could happen. We desperately need a third party that has the power to compete with the current two broken and corrupt ones but I have no idea how that will ever happen. I just read the news that recently broke about Mitch McConnell's court marshal for sodomy in 1967 and how his mentor got it covered up for him and got him out of serving in Vietnam. That was an interesting tidbit of info. I have no idea how true it is but it's out in the open now.

More and more folks are getting firearms here in the city now because of all of the robberies, car jackings, and home invasions lately. My wife and I have considered it for the first time in our lives. I think the myth that the police can (or sometimes are willing) to protect us was squashed by what we've experienced here this summer.

We do live close. I could easily walk to the capital!
