What a useful skill that would be to be able to read people so quickly like that. I wish I would've taken up poker years ago. It might have kept me from misplacing my trust in the wrong people and possibly saved me money and years.

I have a little "gut feeling" about all this as well. There was a digital dollar provision inserted into the recent Covid-19 stimulus bill. It's there under the guise of being a fast and efficient way to get stimulus money to those who need it BUT the government won't have the infrastructure to even do this for twelve months or more. Add this to the fact that they're scaring the bejesus out of people about how unsanitary cash is and I think one of their major play here is to get the public to adopt a digital dollar.

A former Coinbase Exec was just hired to the Federal Reserve precisely because he has the skillset (technical/legal) to steer them in the right direction. The average Joe/Jane citizen underestimates how many freedoms eliminating physical currency in lieu of a centralized digital currency would take from them. The government would be able to track your movement, freeze your assets, and also instantly limit your access to your assets in times of crisis (like these). I know a lot of folks who withdrew significant amounts of cash when the stories of this virus first started to surface but if we had a digital dollar you can bet that would have been all locked down within hours of the first story surfacing.

Whenever major policy changes like this are jammed through the approval process with the excuse of keeping us "safe", we should all be concerned.
