Absolutely. The tricky thing in our case was we weren't sure what work had been done and what hadn't. The furnace wasn't original to the home and neither was the hot water heater. Just a case of bad timing,

I can imagine it’s different when guns aren’t part of the culture. For me it’s a leap from having a firearm for home-protection to carrying one on your person. With as dangerous as our cities are becoming

Same here. I took on jobs I probably shouldn’t have when I was young. I would’ve hired a plumber if our son couldn’t have handled that part.

I love target shooting! My dad had a 357 Magnum and I've shot both 9mm pistols and an AR-15. We grew up with weapons, as they're so baked into American culture. I never considered owning a pistol myself

That sounds like a true adventure! Thank you! I'll be sure to check in with you if we ever plan to travel there.

I didn't fully appreciate back then in those tumultuous teen years but I sure did later! We'd come back and make a big breakfast and then sometimes would go on bike rides after that.

I think people are still trying to find the proper balance using AI. Most LLMs are going to begin embedding invisible statistical watermarks in the text of AI-created content at the code level to allow

Thank you! My next book is going to be a collection of essays! I also love being up in those early morning hours before dawn. It's so quiet and the air is fresh. I remember when I was twelve or so I had

I don't like to rush in the mornings either. I think that's one reason I wake up when I do. Nothing ruins my day like having to rush around. I especially like to get up early when I travel to try to make

Absolutely!

Thanks so much Krisz! And I appreciate all of the helpful suggestions! I enjoy thinking about different ways to market offline. For Ephemera I embedded a Bitcoin private key across several pages the manuscript

It felt rewarding to have such a productive week! Yeah, book marketing is a difficult nut to crack. There are so many authors competing for a pool of attention that's getting smaller and smaller. Your

I really love the style of that time period, I always have. What you say is about publishing is true. You really have to do it for the love of it if you're an indie because it's an uphill battle every

Thanks for the suggestion! I've always wanted to go to the Middle East. The mainstream media here in the US has a habit of scaring the beejeezus out of us when it comes to traveling to that part of the

All great ideas! We have lots of little indie bookstores here in the Twin Cities and the fall would be the perfect time to line up some readings/signings. Thank you Jay!

It can be challenging sometimes. I hope it's better today. We just watched The Roses on Netflix: It gets pretty dark in places but there are some funny scenes about marriage/relationships.

Most of my recent ones are in Kindle and paperback format. I'm flirting with the idea of just making this one available in paperback. Sometimes I think the Kindle sales canabilize the sales of the physical

I have a lot of respect for Marines. My nephew was a drill instructor for a lot of years, he's still serving in SoCal. I think his twenty is up in about four more years.

Thanks Jay! I'll look into this. Many of these kinds of things are services they make indie authors pay for but, sometimes, the investment is worth it. It might even make sense to list some of my older

It's probably a very similar vibe, in terms of peace & quiet, to the early morning. Most nights I'm ready to shut down by 10:30 or so.
