So I always heard of it, but only of recent did I get a personal feel of it.
The Ongoing
It was a Friday and I was on my way out, the road was unusually busy and eventually blocked, so vehicle owners had to maneuver and follow various routes, I did likewise. Halfway through, a police officer accosted me and asked why I followed that route, I explained that the road was blocked and everybody became lawless and followed various routes, if I stayed back the blockage would become worse and I wouldn’t get where I intended. The officer said I should go back, I replied, with all due respect I can’t not having gotten this far and more so there were vehicles lined up behind me, so it was practically impossible.
The Incoming
I continued, more so, where was the police before the traffic jam degenerated this far. I think that statement set off something in him, he started raving, ranting “do you want to teach me my job…. reverse right now….go back….. You are arguing with a uniformed man…. you are trying to be stubborn …. Blah and blah”. In all this, I kept my calm and wore a smile, I think this might have further infuriated him, next he tried to open my door, I shut it back close, the in came the punches….. Out of nowhere….. for no reasonable reason….. not once……not twice…..not even thrice.
I opened the door I came down, I channeled my energy, and due to my stature jumped a bit and landed one of those slaps that should make it to the hall of fame, I really can’t relay articulately how most of the brawl went, I just know when I was asked to the station, his uniform was torn.
Okay I do remember at some point another police officer threatened me with a gun, this scared off a large percentage of my bypassing supporters, three of them however followed me to the police station
In Justice System
On getting to the station, the other officer reported that I hit the officer first, and apparently forgot to mention he threatened unharmed civilians with his firearm. I also explained my part, however the Deputy Police Officer in his infinite wisdom still felt I was the one at fault, thanks to one of the three witnesses that came along with me.
Wondering what happened to the other two? Well their testimonies became unclear to them seeing the policemen seemed to be in control at the time, however when the one witness who stayed true to me raised his voice and got vehement, the other two joined in.
Eventually all thanks to my brothers who unlike me happen not to be so civil, they came in , turned the place upside down, however all I came out with was just an apology.
Feeling unjustified, I called my uncle who happened to be a senior ranking officer in the army, only to hear a 15minutes sermon on how justice might not exactly be obtainable and how letting go is usually the best alternative and how…… just damn it. I was super disappointed, but better experienced.
No this wasn't me, it feels personal however cos this guy is more than a friend, he's a brother, quiet, easy going and peaceful, I was surprised he could even get angry enough to land a mega slap, it brew joy from the depth of my soul.

My ever cheerful homie, hours before the assault
