This has been a really huge bridge for me, I have always known about the advantages of being a reader, the "readers are leaders" and more. But no matter how hard I try, I cant seem to go from cover to cover with any book, not even from cover to middle page.
However, I learnt from one of my mentors, that "to be a great person or successful business man" as he put it when I explained what I intend doing, "you have to invest in books"
I trust this man's counsel, so I had in mind to do this. I think I logged this somewhere on my todo list for last year, probably even the year before, but I didn't get myself to do it.
This week, on the day one of my deeply respected mentors was laid to rest, I broke through, I bought a book, It was not the book I went for (I previously researched on what book to buy), but it is a book I should go for, and I did.
To be honest I was surprised at how expensive a lot of those books were, like....."Ain't it just prints???!" I think that alone would be a major source of motivation to read through, like....."what could be worth all of that money?"
Unveiling...... "the book that turned conventional thinking on its head".... "the book that broke down boundaries of traditional product-pitch selling".................
Yes it had to be a sales book, or at least something about disruptive innovation, or mind hacking.
