my mom and dad didn't brush their teeth. But my mother cared for her teeth and gargled regularly with garlic schnapps. And they hardly ate any sugar. Since I don't like the schnapps (stinks) and I like to eat sweets, I brush my teeth (with a good toothpaste, not the foaming stuff).
