Hello and good day,
in order to bring a little movement into the comments section and to issue a small challenge to you, I will comment as follows :)
Your opening example and the judging statement basically make the ones that follow somewhat implausible. If you are liberal, you would rate what you call foolish "wearing short clothes, doing parties at night, drinking and smoking, and laughing with people of the opposite sex" less, or not at all.
Of course, I know what you're referring to without making myself look artificially stupid: a dissolute life. However, I would think that people, especially the young, have their experiences in debauchery, overdoing it, getting hopelessly drunk, engaging in easy adventures, etc. It is, in my view, an expression of our times, as the very same young people go to work on their weekdays, compete with each other, adapt to the influences of civilisation. Where the pressure is very great, it then blazes a trail at the weekends, doesn't it?
Doing stupid things is a privilege of the young and where they are judged to be superficial, what can happen is that they spend a lifetime living out the very thing they feel is frowned upon. So old people maybe still busy acting eternally young and liberal ... Haha!
What "should be normal" is in and of itself a provocation and contradicts the idea of freely deciding what is normal for oneself.
I may be in a good mood and enjoy a party to the fullest, my eyes fixed on the legs beneath the miniskirts, but it can also happen that I suddenly find such goings-on quite repulsive, depending on how my mental make-up is knitted.
Fortunately, you note that there is no such thing as a perfect fulfilment of ideals, I would agree and say that is realistic.
Greetings from a stranger
