I want to answer briefly, for I think we have a somewhat similar look onto this topic, after talking a bit further. For me, the read sounded more like "patience" is not so much perceived by you as a virtue, more like a negative thing. If that is not so, I may have misread it.

Where I would not want to make a prediction or assumption is, that the women I talked about would have been in a worse emotional condition for sure, if she stayed. One never knows. How I felt her presence she was a strong women in herself.
