Hi to you,
To give an answer to your first question, why so few users purchased POB, I try giving an answer from my personal perspective.
If I look at it with some distance, Steemit was the first cryptocurrency-based blockchain to connect to a blogosphere. All the prospects, promises and positive aspects, just like those that are considered problematic, were expressed there. I found the move to Hive somewhat confusing, but followed the statements that it looked like a hostile takeover of Steemit.
As a person who doesn't know much about currencies, markets, etc. and whose interest is difficult to maintain (due to other focuses), it went over my head to see all the tokens and applications popping up everywhere. I have too little idea of the values of the tokens thrown on the market, am in no way sure how and where to exchange what of my hive dollars. In principle, I would need an advisor whom I trust, for example, because I have a more than short-lived relationship with this person. Trust in pure online acquaintances is limited by its anonymous nature and only getting to know each other more closely in the backrooms creates the opportunity to build trust, but there are limits here as well. For example, maybe after months of using POB-tag I would have been ready to buy POB too, now I see how POB is also changing and now seems to be on the decline? Vyb is now the new?
My impression is, entering ever faster into ever different spheres, experiencing the change of interests and inventions without really being familiar with this matter is not solely a subjective experience. Basically, I'm probably not even the target group and those like me who miss every profitable entry are probably basically needed, since not everyone can "be the first".
I am fine with Vyb's approach - as far as I understood the white paper - my question would be, if I am merely a tag-user but not an active investor and token exchanger, how valuable am I to you (you as a team) as an operator? Is it that you want more investors and less content bloggers (off-topic)?
After over four years on the blockchain, where I can be classified as a "holder", I'll probably take my husband's advice and just take a smaller pro-rata powerdown to see what else is out there in the world. Whether it's inside or outside this sphere, I'll see.
Oh, I forgot to wish you a Merry Christmas, even though the holidays might be over :)
