Subject:
Wish Granting Agency Field Report - by field worker Genie 23.

Most esteemed Central Committee,

In this letter enclosed herewith from the field agent Genie 23, created out of thin air, we recognise an attempt at denunciation by the designated fairy from the Northern Realms, which we consider successful.

At last we have a written handle against the rule-breaking, hitherto unrecognised underground movement against technological progress, which we for our part unreservedly endorse and have set ourselves the goal of advancing against all forms of resistance.
On the premise of the welfare of all humanity, which we are deeply convinced to be able to achieve, we are grateful for any form of support, including the naming and activities of the undiscerning resisters, which will give us a handhold to swiftly take further steps to effectively and efficiently infiltrate the obstructions in the name of progress.

We wish to express our profound gratitude that our own wishes, which we believe we can discern from the artefacts handed down so far from the archives of our Committee, are well on the way to being fulfilled.

While some of our scholars have pointed out to us that the fulfilment of wishes by recipients who do not wish to see such wishes fulfilled in themselves is a paradox, we counter that the getting rich of all earthlings has nothing to do with their emotionally subjective state of happiness, and no one in expressing a wish has claimed or wished that all the rich should also all feel happiness at the same time.

Nevertheless, we believe that a certain feeling of happiness is of decisive importance, because we do not wish paradoxes to occur. But where they do occur, we do not wish to ignore them, but to eliminate their existence.

We therefore agree with our field representative that this is merely a matter of time, within which we intend to use gentle persuasion with the clear aim of changing the mind of the recalcitrant subject.

We also agree that the few times when there have been accidents and actual collateral damage, these are merely negligible exceptions that confirm our rules.
We give, insofar as the Committee wishes, the opportunity to the undergirders to be helped and have created facilities specifically for this purpose, to enable mentally unstable personalities who doubt the effective and efficient fulfilment of their wishes to get on the right path. This, of course, is only as an ultimate measure, insofar as it is not enough to deprive the recalcitrant subject of her social standing.

We recommend, however, that Agent 23 show a little more restraint in attitude and appearance; it is not conducive to the current emerging trend to show oneself through immodesty in fashion and manners. Rather, we recommend less ostentatious dress and not overdoing it with the wealth displayed, but practising understatement. In any case, Genie 23 deserves a severe rebuke for his sexual excesses; he should be forbidden to have fun with princesses and other females.
Of course, we also understand that under certain circumstances there can be emotional upsurges, which in turn cause collateral damage. However, given the immense importance of our activity, they are to be tolerated.

Thus equipped, we firmly believe that logic and science, the cornerstones of everything earthly, enable us to make precise and clear predictions about how the universe will behave and when, where and how exactly our desired goals will have taken effect. We expect this to be the case by stardate 01016624020.

We await further instructions with hope and remain with respect to the Central Committee.
