It's a family thing. Almost everyone from my mothers side got a bad eye sight, my grand dad became even blind in his late years. I find, it is a matter of aging. During the day I have no problems reading and doing other things which require my eyes. It becomes tedious when sunlight is gone.

Oh, it's a contest. I have not grasped it. lol :D

Snow Crash: I cannot remember the details but I felt it was way ahead of its time. Like so many SF-books. Not sure what you mean by meta-verse, I hear it a lot lately, but I am not certain about the meaning of it.

Have you ever written a book or tried to write one? I did several times. Only in one case I finished it, well, in a way. But was not satisfied in the end. It rots in my archive.
