A few hours ago, I joined PENUP of Samsung. It's basically a social networking site for artists who own S pens and draw with it. In general, the app was made to be an art community especially for Samsung [Galaxy] device owners. I'm pretty sure it's open for other pen wielders.
I normally use either MediBang Paint or Autodesk SketchBook, whichever I find more convenient to use at a given personal project. However, I was very, very motivated to use the Samsung Notes to come up with an art this time. There were many really good artists over at PENUP who drew with Samsung Notes.
And my curiosity was effectively piqued at 4:30 in the morning.
In an attempt to using the Samsung Notes in drawing, I came up with this one. The reference can be found in Pinterest and is part of Maarten Schröder's portfolio for the PhotoVogue Stories series.
Aaand here she is! The whole drawing took 30 minutes, according to the recording.
Was it easy? Supposedly, it should, but it wasn't to me -- for a couple of reasons.
Sort of.
Samsung Notes is a very nice app for note-taking, I promise. I use it countless of times when writing minutes of meetings I attend at work. But it also has nice features for drawing!

Long story short, the Samsung Notes does not feature layers -- something I'd been used to over the course of the last few weeks. It feels like I'm really doing watercolor painting on real paper (which was mind-blowing).
And when I say "like real paper," I mean it. Editing sketches, proportions, and many other things are done by clicking on the erase tool and, well, manually erasing stuff and refurbishing what needed improvements.
I also really suck at watercolors, in real world, which makes it more and more difficult to me. But hey, this was a challenge to myself, and I really wanted to learn my watercolors anyway!

Anyway, because there's no layer functionality, I can't do a series of progress shots this time (I always do this every after drawing, by hiding/unhiding layers). I think I should consistently do one in the future.
