BLACKPINK in your area!
That's South Korean girl pop group's — BLACKPINK's — rather popular tag line. Just recently, the group dropped their latest single, Ice Cream, which is a collaboration with the just as popular Selena Gomez. The song was cute and refreshing, and I'd be lying if I didn't say I definitely caught the ear worm.
Today's drawing is of Jisoo, one of BLACKPINK's members. The reference I used comes from her latest Instagram update. I had trouble choosing which of the three pictures she shared I would draw (because she is sooo pretty in all of them!), but I ended up choosing the last one.
Drawing BLACKPINK's Jisoo
Since I started drawing with my phone, this one is the most frustrating yet. There were too many colors! And it's too colorful for my liking. But guess what? I wanted to persevere haha.
For me, what made it difficult were the nails, the super colorful accessories, and her equally colorful shirt... that's crocheted. I drew this while having a good laugh watching Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, which definitely gave me a good laugh. I mentioned it in my last post, but I hadn't been feeling really well lately.
While I found drawing her nails, accessories, and clothes tedious, it definitely kept my mind off bad things. And it succeeded superbly!
The details I put in on the clothes were random, but I am hopeful are somewhat effective. The nails nearly made me cry, same with the accessories, so I hope you liked it!

Notes
Jisoo is my favorite BLACKPINK member. She's quick-witted, funny, and her voice is lovely! Of the four members of the group, she's the only one who finds difficulty conversing in English. But she's trying and persevering, and I admire that about her. :)
On another note, just when I thought I was finally (barely) crawling away from feeling down, terrible news just had to arrive. My uncle, one of my favorite people who believed in my skills and ability to build great career in the scientific field, passed away yesterday. It sucks that we're in quarantine and his remains are in Manila, which means we won't be able to pay our respects. And it's sad that I wasn't able to talk to him one last time. But on the other hand, I settled with the thought that he's no longer suffering.
