The book that has the biggest mind trip WTF moment in recent memory is Journey to Ixtlan: The Lessons of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda

I listened to it while doing some small house remodeling projects this past fall. It took me a while to get into the groove of the story telling, but once I had locked in I was ready to go on the journey of what I thought would be a satisfying outcome.

Nope.

It's a big WTF moment that still leaves me shaking my head wondering about the meaning of it all. I'm sure there will some moment in the future where the book will make sense. For now, it stands as a perplexing mystery. And for all I know maybe that was the point.
