En el béisbol la figura del manager siempre suele ser de alguien que estuvo en el juego como jugador, yo diría que casi que en el 100% de los casos, los managers en la diferentes categorías fueron jugadores, no siendo la excepción para Yadier Molina, quien como jugador fue un excelente receptor tanto en su natal Puerto Rico y en los Estados Unidos con el equipo de los Cardenales de San Louis, y que apenas dejó de ser jugador activo en 2022, se sumó a la difícil tarea de dirigir a un equipo de béisbol, siendo su primera experiencia, el conjunto de los Navegantes del Magallanes en Venezuela, tal movimiento de manera prematura y a la vez muy llamativa, debido a la prontitud de la fecha de su retiro.

Lo hecho por Yadier luego de terminar su majestuosa carrera profesional con los Cardenales de San Louis, fue algo fuera de lo común, debido a que casi siempre los jugadores después del retiro, prefieren alejarse un poco de los terrenos de juego, buscan más, pasar tiempo con sus familias, aunque otros si lo prefieren así, pero desde la gran pantalla, siendo parte de programas televisivos referente al beisbol, para mantenerse vinculados a este deporte ahora desde otra perspectiva.

What Yadier did after finishing his majestic professional career with the St. Louis Cardinals, was something out of the ordinary, because almost always the players after retirement, prefer to move away a little from the playing fields, looking for more, spend time with their families, although others do prefer it that way, but from the big screen, being part of television programs about baseball, to stay linked to this sport now from another perspective.

El caso de este exjugador, resulta algo bonito, debido a que pareciera que no pierde nunca, las ganas de estar junto a cosas relacionadas al béisbol, una demostración de ello, dejar el retiro para venir a dirigir a Venezuela, no eligiendo a su tierra Puerto Rico, en donde deja de hacer muchas cosas, por hacer lo que más le gusta, que es, estar detrás de la toma de decisiones, ahora en el banco como manager, relacionando mucho eso, a lo que era como cuando fue receptor activo, ilusionando a toda una legión de fanáticos del Magallanes, que veían al Yadier catcher, como un gran dirigente, debido a su forma exitosa de llevar a los lanzadores en las grandes ligas.

The case of this former player, is something nice, because it seems that he never loses the desire to be with things related to baseball, a demonstration of this, leaving retirement to come to manage Venezuela, not choosing his homeland Puerto Rico, where he stops doing many things, to do what he likes, which is, being behind the decision making, now on the bench as manager, relating a lot of that, to what he was like when he was an active catcher, illusioning a whole legion of Magallanes fans, who saw Yadier catcher, as a great manager, due to his successful way of managing pitchers in the big leagues.

Yo en particular como fiel seguidor del béisbol en mi país, lo vi con un poco de dudas, porque si bien su gran actuación como jugador activo era y fue de las mejores, pues como dirigente no es lo mismo, y más si te acabas de retirar, y voy más allá, si tu mismo dices que no tienes ningún tipo de experiencia en ese rol, muchos lo dejamos pasar por alto, pero con el tiempo nos dimos cuenta y llegaron los resultados y las fuertes críticas, al señalar como una burla y un experimento, el venir al país a solo pasear y no tomarse el rol en serio y más frente a una fanaticada del equipo del Magallanes, una según los expertos más concurridas a nivel nacional.

Su desempeño en ese rol fue aceptable, rodeado de un grupo de técnicos que fueron escogidos para ayudarlo a él, en su primera experiencia como dirigente en el siempre tan difícil equipo del Magallanes, lo llevó al siguiente nivel, al lograr clasificar de ronda al conjunto valenciano, pese a las críticas y los constantes ataques, yo observando todo, no lo veo tan mal lo que hizo para ser la primera vez, con las limitantes de las famosas sanciones que te impedían traer jugadores pertenecientes a MLB, y que luego te dijeran que si podías hacerlo en pleno desarrollo de la temporada, para mi influyó de manera considerable porque, se te desplanificaba todo un trabajo que venías haciendo desde hace meses desde la gerencia deportiva.

Su rol y liderazgo se noto, porque pese a todo lo mal que se habló de él, el equipo en ningún momento perdió el enfoque, y más allá de que los resultados en el terreno de juego no los acompañaron en el round robin, los llevó a ocupar el tercer lugar de la clasificación, y estuvieron con oportunidad de avanzar a la final hasta el ultimo dia del calendario, queriendo decir esto, que pese a los malos resultados, los jugadores siguieron haciendo su trabajo, cumpliendo las órdenes, de un manager entre comillas inexperto.

His role and leadership was noticeable, because in spite of all the bad things that were said about him, the team never lost focus, and even though the results on the field did not accompany them in the round robin, he led them to third place in the standings, and they had a chance to advance to the final until the last day of the calendar, meaning that despite the bad results, the players continued to do their job, following the orders of an inexperienced manager.

Cuantos managers de categoría se quedaron en el camino de la misma forma que Yadi.? Alfredo Pedrique, Carlos Garcia, por mencionar algunos, dirigentes emblema del equipo carabobeño que al igual que Yadi no pudieron avanzar a la final, algo que debería llevar a la reflexión a muchos allegados a este equipo, de que no se hizo tan mal trabajo y pesar de lo accidentada de la temporada en cuanto a jugadores, permisos, sanciones y dimes y diretes, el hombre dejó un récord y un trabajo aceptable, que pudo haber sido mejor.? si, quizás con un poco más de apoyo y más experiencia los resultados pudieron haber sido distintos.

How many managers of category were left on the road in the same way as Yadi? Alfredo Pedrique, Carlos Garcia, to mention a few, emblematic managers of the Carabobo team that like Yadi could not advance to the final, something that should lead to reflection to many close to this team, that they did not do such a bad job and despite the eventful season in terms of players, permits, sanctions and bickering, the man left a record and an acceptable job, which could have been better? yes, perhaps with a little more support and more experience the results could have been different.

En términos generales y de la manera como veo las cosas, el hombre lo hizo bien, si bien todo los expuesto fue solo una pequeña parte de lo que representó su trabajo aqui en Venezuela, para ser su primera bien, lo hizo excelente, si nos ponemos a analizar a profundidad, fue una temporada un poco rara, accidentada, unos jugadores podrán venir, otros no, para que al final si todos pudieran venir a jugar, para que luego los que podían venir luego del cese de las sanciones, en realidad no terminarán viniendo, no pudiendo conseguir el permiso de sus respectivos equipos de grandes ligas para representar al equipo eléctrico.

In general terms and the way I see things, the man did well, although all that was exposed was only a small part of what his work represented here in Venezuela, for his first good job, he did excellent, if we analyze in depth, it was a bit of a strange, eventful season, some players could come, others could not, so that in the end if all could come to play, then those who could come after the cessation of sanctions, actually did not end up coming, not being able to get permission from their respective major league teams to represent the electric team.

Por otro lado, la mayoría de esos jugadores que estaban allí, fueron jugadores puestos, osea que el mismo Yadier no pidió, y que en teoría él tenía que emplear sus estrategias, las pocas que sabia o tenia con eso que estaba alli, llegando a concluir de que el hombre dirigió un poco condicionado, y voy más allá, y fue al final de la temporada, cuando pudo contar con el coach de pitcheo que pidió desde un principio, agregando algo más de dificultad a su trabajo, colocando algo más positivo a su desempeño durante esta zafra, concluyendo de que con más planificación, con más tiempo de trabajo, Yadier Molina podría volver para la próxima temporada, teniendo desde ya, un trabajo de cara a la próxima contienda de 2023-2024 a la cual llegaría con más experiencia.
