The movie Silent Hill was inspired by a series of tragic events that took place in Centralia, Pennsylvania in which a coal mine caught on fire back in 1962 and has been burning ever since then. Yeah, I know that's really weird, because that's going back to before I was born and most of us here were born. Centralia used to be a thriving and booming town and now there are fewer than six people living there because of the burning coal mine. Most of that town's residents have been evacuated from it since 1962. So sad.
