Come to think of it, I have noticed that most of the articles in the "Trending" section or the "New" section of Steemit are in Chinese, Korean or some other Asian language. Back in 2017, there seemed to be many articles in English and in other European languages in both the "Trending" section and the "New" section of Steemit. I have an interest in someday learning to speak Japanese, but I do like to write articles in my own language - English; and occasionally I will comment in Spanish on articles that I read in that language. However, whenever I want to write an article and post it, English is my preferred language. Not that I would never consider posting an article in Spanish, but I don't have as many ideas for Spanish-language articles as I do for English-speaking articles. Today I posted a comment in German to an article I read in that language here on Hive. Not as easy as speaking that language with my father. The grammar rules in that language are brutal. I used to be able to write in that language easily, but not anymore. French is a bumpy language to write in too. It's fun to speak it, but not as easy to write it.
