Welcome to my new psychology tips. On this chapter I'm go to tell you how to Spot a fake friend easily.
What if I told you that the person smiling at you today could be the same person talking about you tomorrow?
Not every friendship is genuine. Some people stay close because of what they can gain, not because they care about you. The good news is that fake friends often reveal themselves through small, consistent behaviors.
The five signals you should be aware of are:
1. They only contact you when they need something.
If every conversation begins with a favor, money, or help, but they disappear when you need support, the friendship is one-sided.
2. They celebrate your failures more than your success.
A real friend is happy when you win. A fake friend may congratulate you with words but secretly feel uncomfortable when your life improves.
3. They constantly gossip about others.
If someone enjoys speaking negatively about everyone else, there's a good chance they do the same when you're not around.
4. They compete instead of support.
Rather than encouraging your growth, they turn everything into a competition. Your achievements make them feel threatened instead of inspired.
5. They disappear during difficult times.
Hard times reveal true friendships. Fake friends often vanish when life becomes inconvenient, only to return when things are going well again.
No friendship is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. That's why it's important not to judge people based on a single incident. Instead, look for consistent patterns over time.
Surround yourself with people who celebrate your victories, stand by you during your struggles, and tell you the truth even when it's uncomfortable. Those are the friendships worth protecting.
Q: Which do you think reveals a fake friend faster:(1). how they react to your success or (2). how they treat you during your hardest moments?
