1.English candidate node EOS 42 released a DDOS attack test result and defense plan on official website recently. They attacked four nodes in the DDOS attack test. Those are the node that applied Azure DDOS service, the node that applied Google Cloud and applied standard DDOS defense provided by Google, the node that applied AWS standard DDOS defense shield and applied Google Load Balancing service. The test results show that the first three nodes fail to resist and the last resists successfully. Testers also give some suggestions such as setting connection limits、source code rate filtering and so on. From now to June 2nd, EOS 42 will provide DDOS defense testing to community for free.

2.BM released DAWN4.0 on Medium, some netizens confused about buying/selling RAM. BM replied the questions: “Buying RAM” is “staking for RAM”, there are two options the community could adopt: 1.”unsticking RAM” refunds you what you paid for the RAM. 2.”selling RAM” refunds you what the RAM is currently worth. With the unstacking model there is disincentive to free memory for those who got it cheap early on. People may purchase more than they need early on. With buying/selling RAM allocation we support “fractional reserve RAM” which keeps price much lower than if it was 1% of EOS buys 1% of RAM under 100% reserve. This lets the market set the price and manages the scarcity naturally.
