Odd as it may seem, among the things I like to photograph when I walk are the sidewalks. I see the cracks, the plants that grow in the joints, the stains. But there are also stairs, parking spots, gates, railings, bollards. And I pay attention to them too.
This is not something new: as someone who has walked every day for most of my life, I rely on my peripheral vision. Sometimes I get glimpses of things that demand a photo. I may not notice everything that is interesting, it is true.
And some things are, of course, too obvious to be overlooked. Things like those I show in the photos below.
Subtlety, you see, will have to wait for another post.
