it's getting warmer and more and more people are out taking a stroll on the pedestrian road along the harbor. our garden overlooks the harbor with the road right below our terrace. it's good fun to observe the people and their shadows. the folks on the road in the morning cast shadows either in front of them or behind them depending on which way they are going. in the afternoon all the shadows fall beside them towards the harbor. you may think that everybody's shadow is pretty much the same and it would get boring fast but that's just not true. these two shots are from last summer

looking at the shadows you might think that these two are not ordinary people at all, maybe from some theater or something

but when you see the couple in person there is really nothing remarkable at all about their appearance

there is something special about this shadow also

but it's from an ordinary looking man with a shopping bag in one hand and a bag on wheels in the other
