Five of the original boatbuilding sheds from the mid 1700s in Fredrikdvern Verft in Stavern,Norway still stand proudly in classic Stavern yellow along the shore. this is where the famed naval station built their fleet of galleys and sloops or to use the language of the day galleis and shallops. the wooden slipways (launching ramps) behind three of the sheds are still intact but haven't seen much use for years. seaweed, shells, jellyfish, driftwood etc wash up on the slipways when the water is high and some of it remains and dries on the old weathered wooden planks. i took this photo series with my S22 phone last week.

while the low end of the slipways are constantly under the saltwater the sea rarely washes the end closest to the sheds so the planks are more sun-bleached and dried
