Earlier this summer we were in western Norway in an exceptionally scenic area called Hardanger. We hiked from Sunndal up a trail to a mountain lake called Bondhusvatnet. Some of the glacial melt from Folgefonna flows into the far end of the lake. These photos are taken at the near end which flows down into the Maurangsfjord which is a small sidearm of the much larger Hardangerfjord. the lake has a wonderful turquoise color due to the glacial silt in the water.

it is an easy hike for young and old, so if you are ever in the area I would definitely recommend making the effort. now swimming though because the lake is the source of drinking water for the lucky residents in the vicinity.
