We use a polite variety of language while talking to a person we do not know well, or a person senior to ourselves in terms of age or social position. We use a polite variety when we talk to someone intimate or we know well. English has no familiar pronouns like Nepali, there the use of pleasing and kindly makes the language polite. If we come down towards the familiar style we may find the use of impolite forms and slang of different variety but we should not use slang in our language.
