"He who climbs the highest mountain laughs upon all tragedies, real and imaginary."

  • Friedrich Neitszche

A mountain is a monument that stands in your way. It can be emotional, physical or a matter of negotiation. In life, our mountains can restrain or greatly limit our potential. We need to climb our mountains, and the highest and hardest climbs can bring us to the next level.

Positive change is not easy. What makes us uncomfortable is often what we need to do. In nature,a mountian is made when two tectonic plates smash together or molten metal is released from deep inside the Earth's bowels. In much the same way, our mountains are made from tragedy or realities. A mountain may be the result of a tragic accident, birth defect or a bad choice.

We must prepare for our climb by getting the proper gear and training. We may also need the proper partner to join us on our climb. Whatever the mountain is, we need to assess the scope of the climb and make the right preparations.

When we climb our mountain, we look back from a new vantage. We now have the high ground and perspective. Was the problem you faced life-changing or was it less than what you expected.
