Ragnarok is a strategy game that combines collectible cards, chess, and poker, inspired by Norse mythology and other mythologies from around the world.

The project is currently approximately 90% of the way toward completing its planned testnet phase.
One of our biggest challenges has been building a game that doesn't rely on centralized private servers to let friends play together from anywhere in the world.
To achieve this, we're developing an architecture where much of the game's logic, validation processes, and core modules run directly on each player's device, using P2P connections for multiplayer matches and integrating the Hive blockchain for processes that require persistence and verification.
Our goal is to reduce dependence on centralized servers without compromising security, performance, or the overall gaming experience.
In this video, we showcase some of the game's core mechanics: card reveals, character selection, strategic movements on the chessboard, and poker battles where players wager their health points. The cycle continues until a winner is determined.
There are still tests to complete, improvements to make, and technical challenges to overcome, but we're getting closer to finishing this stage of development.
Ragnarok is our attempt to explore new ways of building video games using decentralized technologies.
