You just need to be creative.
Each author is allowed to have their own about section on Amazon itself. I gave Hive a small mention in my own about section.
It’s also very hard to make it in self-publishing these days. It was already overcrowded back in 2024 when I went down that route. Something like 3-4 million books a year now are self published on Amazon.
I’ve know authors who have published between 50-100 books, and most of those books got zero real sales. Back before AI. Just family and friends bought to show support. They did not get enough sales at release to have a high enough ranking to ever be seen.
I think the last time I got a single sale was over a year ago, when I put my books on sale for 99 cents. A lot of people just keep putting their books on sale every time Amazon allows them to do so for 99 cents.
Then you have stuff like Kindle Unlimited. Where you get paid based on pages read if you enroll in that program.
It was something fun to do twice in the past. The lack of sales was disappointing. Without a huge following to push book sales. It’s hard to get any traction in the self-publishing world. I’m just glad I never paid for the endless services out there that “help” people self-publish. I’d have never made my money back.
I do wish you the best of luck if you go this route. I’d recommend heavily researching what book genres you want your anthology to be listed under. Some genres are a lot less competitive than others. Along with what other anthologies have done to be successful.
With a budget you will want to look into sites like Goodreads. Back when I was self-publishing. KDP had just removed the ability to give out 100 free copies to reviews in exchange for written reviews on Amazon.
