However, I think that some of ideas such as "not allowing the threefold repetition rule" are too much. You can ban the draw by mutual agreement, but not the other 4 legitimate ways to draw. That would no longer be chess and I couldn't play anything else but chess :S

On the other hand, let the time run out on purpose, thus making your opponent waste time is ethically problematic. Lichess even drops this message in matches where it detects it happens:

"Warning. Letting time run out instead of resigning will result in a temporary ban".
