Do you think we should have "voting keys"?

A little back story to this question.

While listening to the recording of themarkymark@themarkymark's radio show, I heard a little segment about "voting keys". This is strictly theoretical, so don't go around looking for it.

What is it, you might ask?

Well, we have our posting keys here on Steem, which allow you to post and vote on content on the blockchain. A voting key, then, would allow you to vote only without being able to write or edit posts.

What are some of the applications of this? Perhaps you want to hire a curator (or two) to manually curate content without having to worry about giving them too much authority.

Unfortunately, keys on Steem are much more complex than most of the other projects in the crypto space. Having yet another key would likely cause more confusion and decrease user friendliness.

Anyways, how do you feel about having keys that are specifically for voting only?

  • Good idea!

  • Nope. Not another key.

  • About as relevant as flag to downvote...
