Most of you probably heard or even know about the Deep Web, its this terrible nightmare fueled place where you need a special browser to access and once you enter, most likely it will destroy everything you know and love!!!!
Well not exactly, In its basic definition its simply any service or site that is not index by a search engine. It is 100 percent legal to go on the deep web and browse around. If your intentions are that of an illegal nature then you better take some precaution because that party van(FBI) could very well be showing up outside your house.
The Deep Web/Dark net, whatever you want to call it is nothing new, but in recent years has grown in popularity with normal everyday internet users. To put it into perspective the actual "internet" that you use everyday is only a faction of it real size, some estimate the deep web is 500 to 600 times bigger then the clear net/visible web (the normal sites you access via chrome, firefox or even Internet Explorer). Alot of websites on the clear net will have a good portion of their site on the deepweb, for example their database where user information is stored. You surely wouldn't want amazon's user information index right? If that information was in clear text and index by a search engine well, we would all have a problem.
People by nature are curious so they tend to get click happy, and here is where the problem lies. Un-educated people go into the deepweb and scammers are everywhere. They can exploit this curiosity. The first thing newbies do is look for the "hidden wiki". This is highly targeted by scammers, because they know its where people will go to, so they can easily setup a phishing site/scam though this asset. So be careful what you click on and be extremely careful if you download anything from the deepweb.
