I was training sharp for a full marathon at 19th may, but got a grade2 ankle sprain while playing padel. This did not let me train for a good amount of time, and still not %100 recovered. So, while rethinking the full marathon after that incident, Nice half marathon was planned as a long run, not a target race.
We did a 6km shakeout run in Saturday morning. It was nice, weather was perfect. After that, we discover the city, went to Monaco and come back, finished the day with 30k steps.
Weather was already hot at 08:00h. With a good carbo-load, I was ready to roll. My ankle felt okay, so I started fast. First 5kms was very nice. Tried to hold to 05:30 pace/km until 11th kilometer. However, between 10 and 15, there were up and downs in elevation level, constantly, which resulted with losing my momentum.
I had two choices between 15 and 21:
I took the option two given that I've just recovered from a nasty ankle sprain. :)
We traveled to Eze village, and see around. Legs are ok. :) It was a nice race overall, and great city to visit.
